Saudi Food Regulation Updates: Nutritional Labels Now Mandatory in Cafés & Restaurants

The Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued updated regulations requiring all cafés and restaurants across the Kingdom to display nutritional information on menus starting next year. The regulatory change is part of a wider public-health strategy to combat obesity and lifestyle diseases. Operators will have to provide calorie counts, fat/sugar content and allergen warnings. Industry experts say while compliance will involve cost for small operators, it will raise transparency and consumer trust.
