Saudi Arabia has announced the opening of a state-of-the art “Food-Tech Hub” in Riyadh aimed at accelerating food production innovation and moving the Kingdom towards greater self-sufficiency in line with Vision 2030. The hub will host startups, research labs and major industry players focusing on precision farming, alternative proteins, food-waste reduction and supply-chain optimisation. Officials say the initiative is expected to reduce reliance on food imports and to create hundreds of jobs in the coming years.
